Personal Access Communications Systems (PACS) Element Management Layer (EML) Functional Requirements
Document Number GR-2906
Issue Number 01
Issue Date Sep 1995
ABSTRACT: This document provides the view of Telcordia on Personal Access Communications System (PACS) Element Management Layer (EML) functional
requirements. A PACS radio subnetwork consists of a Radio Port Control Unit (RPCU), connected to many Radio Ports (RPs), that in turn
communicate with many Subscriber Units (SUs) over the air interface. GR-1344, Operations Generic Criteria For WACS NEs,
contains generic operations requirements for PACS.
This document references GR-1344 and describes how the EML works with the Network Management Layer (NML) and the Element Layer
(EL) to satisfy the network management requirements. By describing the PACS EML functions, this GR provides a common frame of
reference for suppliers of Element Management Systems (EMS's) and Network Management Systems (NMS's) and their interaction.
