Generic Requirements for CSCANS
Document Number GR-2924
Issue Number 04
Issue Date Mar 2003
ABSTRACT: Issue 4 of GR-2924, Generic Requirements for CSCANS, replaces Issue 3.
After telecommunications products have been generally available and/or in service for a period of time, it often becomes necessary
to introduce changes or corrections to the software. This is referred to as "applying patches." As a result of implementing these
patches, telecommunications service providers (who are the funders of this project) are significantly impacted with respect to labor,
resources, customer service levels, etc. Thus, it is imperative that these software changes are accurately reported and tracked to
completion, according to the needs and requirements of telecommunications service providers.
The purpose of this document is to provide suppliers of telecommunications products with a view of proposed generic requirements and
procedures for initiating and administering Patches, Warnings, Bulletins, and Alerts (WBAs). These Patches and WBAs should be used by a
supplier as the most effective means of exchanging software change and correction information with a telecommunications service
Issue 4 of GR-2924 includes additional information on high speed access.
When using GR-2924, you may need to refer to GR-815, You may also want to refer to IETF RFC 976.
