ABSTRACT: This document replaces SR-NWT-002495.
The Analog Display Services Interface (ADSI) protocol provides bidirectional data communications with Customer Premises Equipment
(CPE) that allows customers to use advanced information and call management features via their CPE. The ADSI is a new data
communications interface designed as an evolutionary extension of the data interface used to transmit caller identity data from a
Stored Program Control switching System (SPCS) to a compatible, called CPE. The extensions permit interactive, two-way data
communications sessions between the end user via the CPE and the feature via an ADSI Server, as well as the display of many more types
of data over a larger virtual display area than permitted by current generation caller identity display CPE.
This Special Report (SR) provides guidelines to the developer of SPCS-based features (i.e., applications) regarding how to design
such features to effectively use the message layer command set and other functionality of the ADSI to communicate interactively with
