ISDN Call Control Switching and Signaling Generic Requirements for Multi-Use Bearer (MUB) Service
Document Number TA-TSV-001356
Issue Number 01
Issue Date Feb 1993
ABSTRACT: This Technical Advisory (TA) provides the preliminary view of Telcordia on generic switching and signaling requirements to support
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Multi-Use Bearer (MUB) Service.
The document addresses the switching and signaling procedures for the establishment and clearing of MUB calls over ISDN Basic Rate
Interface (BRI) and Primary Rate Interface (PRI). In addition, it describes Signaling System Number 7 (SS7) ISDN User Part procedures
for the establishment and release of interoffice circuit connections supporting MUB Service. MUB Service supports the transparent
interworking between ISDN digital applications and the corresponding voice or voiceband (VI) applications from which they evolved.
Examples of such digital applications include videotelephony, secure telephone, 7-kHz audio telephony, digital fax (e.g., G3.bis or
G4), and ISDN terminal adapters.
