Document Number TA-TSY-000224
Issue Number 01
Issue Date Jun 1985
    ORDERING INFORMATION

ABSTRACT: The Cable Terminating Facility (CTF) is used for access and protection of cable pairs to different types and various combinations of
communications equipment housed in various types of above- and below-ground Electronic Equipment Enclosures (EEEs). Therefore, the
specific size requirements for each CTF application depends on the type and quantity of telecommunications equipment employed. The CTF
provides lightning protection for each of the feeder and derived cable pairs. It also provides a means for access to the
individual cable pairs for testing purposes.

This Technical Advisory (TA) provides the Telcordia preliminary view of generic requirements for Cable Terminating Facilities. The
document provides general requirements, functional design requirements, and performance tests for analyzing the conformance of a CTF
    against the stated requirements.
