Primary Reference Sources: Generic Requirements

    ABSTRACT: This document provides the Telcordia view of generic requirements for equipment intended to function as a Primary Reference Source (PRS) for a Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) or other service provider. The PRS is at the top of the digital network synchronization hierarchy, in accordance with the Digital Network Synchronization Plan, GR-436, Digital Network Synchronization, and ANSI T1.101. The most notable characteristic of the PRS is its long-term accuracy, which must be at least as good as 1 part in 10 with verification to Universal Coordinate Time (UCT).
